What’s In or Out? Giveaways

Last week’s In or Out was pretty clear: there is no bad season to have a wedding. In some locations, the weather can be a slight hindrance to throwing a fabulous event, but even that doesn’t stop most couples from getting what they want. Here’s to celebrating love and marriage no matter what the season!

One thing I do want to note is that even though there is no bad season to do weddings, in the past few years I have noticed that Fall weddings have increased a lot. It might be those beautiful jewel tones everyone seems to love…

This week, I’d like to discuss giveaways. Is it still IN to provide giveaways at your event or have they gone OUT of fashion? You tell me. And, if it’s still IN, what types of giveaways are the most popular?

I don’t think giveaways are really “in” per say, but I might be like most who throw in the extra embellishments as the event is being produced. Or we might find a “candy flower” never expected by the client that adds the perfect touch. It might be an added prop or an enhanced prop cohesively used in design.

Still believe in the above and beyond method that goes way above the added “giveaway”.

Hi, Preston. I think giveaways are still “in.” People love getting free things and it is a good way to advertise yourself (if that is your aim). Useful things are the best giveaways. I’m a writer and never find myself to have too many cute notebooks or nice pens…or anything that sparkles. Anything that makes a person think, “Wow; this is really nice,” instead of, “What am I going to do with this crap?” is a good giveaway. However, when in doubt, give away chocolate.
