George Bernard Shaw once said: “You see things and say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were and say, ‘Why not?’” That quote embodies how Preston Bailey approaches every event.
He has become especially renowned for his ability to completely transform raw, ordinary spaces into sumptuous, theatrical environments, translating his clients’ visions into awe-inspiring reality. In this blog, Preston will share stories from his 30 year career, discuss design, offer inspiration and invite you to join the conversation. Welcome.

I totally agree Preston! I hate when I thank a clerk for letting me buy goods in their store and they reply with, “No problem.” Well I sure hope it’s not a “problem”!!!

Waldorf=Astoria: Key West. Their FOH management went FAR beyond the call to help make our client’s visit PERFECT! I couldn’t have asked for anything better!

This is SO true. As someone who’s worked in the customer service industry for over 10 years, I fully understand what it is to give and receive good service! I’ve always benefited from going above and beyond, and treating all my customers like they’re the most important. I’ve even had some people only want to deal with me because of it! You can’t go wrong when you give as good as you’d like to receive! Great post as always!

Service is soooo important. I am HUGE stickler about service. Being in the industry and working in hotels myself in the past allows me to be better aquainted with service. Now I have my own business and I would expect to have fantastic service from my vendors. So I too agree in service!! Don’t complain that you don’t have any business when you can’t give any good service. Just my thought.

Great service is always our number one priority. It’s one of the best ways to let our clients know that they have made the right decision by going with us. It is also what helps get our name out there. I totally agree that if one is not going to serve the customers willingly, maybe it’s time they try a different job.

What do you do when you give great service, extend yourself…go the extra mile for a client, who then refuses to pay your fees for a custom job and devalues the time you spent producing the job, because they thought they could have done it themselves?
