Ever since I got back from a week in California (for a wedding in Carmel that I was doing), it has been busy busy busy all over the office. We’re working on multiple projects (one being the fantastic event in Central Park last night for the Wildlife Conservation Society), which got me wondering about what you’re up to.
Please tell me, if you can, what major events or projects are you working on this weekend? And, what is your favorite part of this event or project?
George Bernard Shaw once said: “You see things and say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were and say, ‘Why not?’” That quote embodies how Preston Bailey approaches every event.
He has become especially renowned for his ability to completely transform raw, ordinary spaces into sumptuous, theatrical environments, translating his clients’ visions into awe-inspiring reality. In this blog, Preston will share stories from his 30 year career, discuss design, offer inspiration and invite you to join the conversation. Welcome.

Got a wedding tomorrow. 500 guests. Calling all vendors and my phone chose the perfect time to go LOCO. My favorite part is when the event is over. I feel like I am constantly holding my breath on every event. YIKES!!

I’m working on my new program called BarbadosDayPass.com – http://www.BarbadosDayPass.com – an alternative to the usual shore excursion. I just spoke to some hotels partners in Barbados and I’m even more than excited about it.

Hi Preston! I’ve been working on this every weekend, leading up to it anyhow. My partner and I from Miami (both lived in Manhattan 8 yrs most recent) are producing it in Austin, TX this August during FASHION WEEK:

I’m working on a weekend for me, after so many weekends of others and their needs. Not to mention the thousands of details that come with working as a butler, and working catering as well!
It’s important to have that weekend off once in a while so you don’t feel like you work EVERY weekend for others-especially in the summer. I want to have fresh food, flowers, beverages, fruits, and vegetables–and the time to sit at a table and get a new look at them and enjoy the tastes and scents and the pure luxury of stillness while doing so.
Turbocharges your mind and your creative soul-not to mention your service heart!
