Your Turn: Summer Reading

Tom Kelly Book Cover

I’ve received such great book recommendations through all of you before that I thought I’d ask again for some much needed summer reading.

Since I’m starting to plan what I’ll be packing for my summer getaway, I’d appreciate hearing about any books you thought were fabulous.

I love reading fiction (for example, on a previous blog post, Eve recommended The Forty Rules of Love and I LOVED it), and non-fiction books about business or self-help.

Currently, I’m reading The Art of Innovation written by the folks from Ideo. It has some great ideas and stories about creativity and being inventive. Thanks to my Creative Director Merv for recommending it to me!

So, please tell me: what are your must-reads for this summer? And why did you love this book?

I’m more thinking about writing a book than reading but I have three books right now that just came in the mail from Amazon.

They are all by Dr. Thomas J. Stanley.

Release Your Brilliance by Simon T Bailey and Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. Both in one way or another speak to pursuing who you really are versus who the world says you should be.

Im sure that being so intellectual and up to date means you have probably read this book, but in case you have not THE ALCHEMIST is a must read. It puts things into perspective and shows you that nothing is out of reach and your biggest blessings are right under your nose, though you may not know it.

“Shadow of the Wind,” by Carlos Ruiz Zafron, a MUST read! It’s a book about a mysterious book and it features, among other things, a true femme fatal! This book is tragic and thrilling, a little scary and a tad bit erotic. Perfect for your summer reading list.
