Enough of the doom and gloom…On today’s Your Turn, I’d love us all to stop and celebrate each other’s success. In a few sentences, let’s share with each other what we have managed to accomplish in the past 5 years that we are most proud of. It’s time to stop and be thankful for how far we have gotten and acknowledge each other’s journeys.
Let me start first. I am incredibly happy and proud to be the first online Event Design Course to also be accredited in more than 2000 universities in the USA (starting this August 15th!).
Let’s have a celebration! What are you most proud of? I know we are taught not to blow our own horns, but please go right ahead.
George Bernard Shaw once said: “You see things and say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were and say, ‘Why not?’” That quote embodies how Preston Bailey approaches every event.
He has become especially renowned for his ability to completely transform raw, ordinary spaces into sumptuous, theatrical environments, translating his clients’ visions into awe-inspiring reality. In this blog, Preston will share stories from his 30 year career, discuss design, offer inspiration and invite you to join the conversation. Welcome.

I’ve been able to semi retire and buy some land in New England and move out of DC. Nice to have this time on my hands to raise a garden full of flowers and peruse other interests.
Thanks for the email Preston. smiles!

We are proud that we’ve been able to open our office in Southern California to great growth and kudos! Our Seattle office is still bringing in amazing clients, so we’re very proud! Finally our new wedding blog, Valley & Co. has taken off in terms of readership since our May launch- we couldn’t be happier!
Enough about us! Overall we’re so proud of our industry friends peers as a whole – those who have managed to continue to be creative and innovative and turn a gloomy outlook into beautiful new ideas!
Cheers and happy holiday!

My husband and I have established Miami’s preeminent at-home massage experience. We’ve upgraded the concept of spa services at one’s leisure, incorporating organic teas, luscious flowers, champagne, chocolate, and fruit into the entire massage ceremony.
I am constatly tuning to you, Preston, because your events are so beautiful and over the top. Besides, I’m a Panamanian as well

Since before college I have been working towards my dream to plan social events and weddings. I worked for Walt Disney World, Outback Steakhous and the Orange County Convention while in college at UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management. Earned my degree in 2007 and have worked as a Catering Coordinator and also as a Corporate Event Planner. After gaining more experience in the industry I decided it was time to start applying for positions that would allow me to be creative and plan weddings! Of course as we all know, it is not the right economy to be applying for a promotion. BUT, I was determined. Traveling, networking events, social networking sites and 9 months later I have landed my dream job as a Catering Manager specializing in weddings. Many tearful nights and times I thought I would never make it. Moral of the story-use your mentors and idols (such as Preston) and keep plugging. I am living proof that it can happen with creativity and getting up when the chips are down. I am in a great place in my life right now and I look forward to learning from Preston and those in the industry who have made such a huge impact on others lives!

We are proud to have purchased our own studio space in Toronto. It is beautiful and it is on the water. A beautiful investment! We are also proud of having more than 100 weddings in one season. That was a big achievement for us, we even had a cake to celebrate! This business has been part of our lives for 10 years now and I am proud of how it is growing and changing.

I am proud and thankful to God that I have finally launched my own event planning business and my website has gone live. Thank you Preston for wanting to share your knowledge and for all the books you have written. They have really inspired me and also given me the courage to take this step. I hope to start getting bookings really soon.
