Preston Bailey The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising

Happy Friday, folks!

This week I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful students from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), which is based in Los Angeles. This is the second year in a row that students from the FIDM have visited my offices here in New York City, and I hope we can keep up the annual tradition. The students are future wedding and event planners, designers, publicists, creative directors and buyers, and I was really impressed by their passion. If these kids are any indication, the wedding and event industry will be in good hands in the years to come!

After their visit, I felt a renewed sense of vigor and excitement for the projects I’m working on right now. I love when that happens.

Dear Readers, do you ever work with students? Do you hire interns? I highly encourage you to reach out to a wedding and event education program. Offer to make a class presentation or to give a group of students a tour of your studio. You’ll learn just as much from the students as they learn from you!

Have a great weekend. See you back here on Monday!

And I had a pleasure meeting Mr. Preston Bailey last month, too! I came all the way from the Philippines and I got starstruck seeing him in person. Mr. PB is my ultimate idol and inspiration in the field of creating beautiful stunning events. He is the “Steven Spielberg” of Events planning. Thank you and I will treasure the memories forever!
