Macy’s Flower Show 2012
April 6, 2012
The annual Macy’s Flower Show is one of my favorite spring events. I’ve been participating every year since 2002, but I’ve never been more excited about it than I am this year, because the 2012 theme is amazing — Brasil: Gardens in Paradise. (And if that doesn’t put you in the mood for sunshine and bright bursts of color, nothing will.)
The show’s Gardens of Paradise includes palms, tropical plants, exotic birds, ponds and a “hidden” waterfall. There are even urban rooftop gardens modeled on those in Sao Paolo and swirling mosaic walkways. Every detail is incredible.
But the Carnaval Celebration in the store’s 34th Street windows are by far my favorite part, because that’s where you’ll find my “Bouquet of the Day” right now and all day tomorrow. If you’re in the NYC area this weekend, I hope you’ll check out the entire show. It’s worth it, I promise! And if you’re not, here are a few sneak peek photos of my fabulous team setting up my floral window display:
Looking at these great photos and beautiful flowers reminds me that I have to thank Chris Gardner, who is the CEO of Worldwide Floral Distributors. He and his team gave us such amazing floral support on this project, and we couldn’t have done it without them. Thanks, Chris!
