Dear Readers,
As I mentioned on Wednesday, I have just returned from giving a speech at the Brookland Foundation in Columbia, S.C.
I always love speaking and connecting with the men and women who come to these events as it allows me a chance to really get to know my colleagues in the event community. It’s certainly a wonderful experience to hear how industry insiders got started.
The event was held at the beautiful Seawell’s Banquet Center and displayed southern hospitality at its best.
I feel very blessed to be in the position I am in, and I am honored that so many of you take the time out of your busy schedule to come to these speaking engagements and share your experiences and wisdom with me. I truly believe that we all have something to learn from one another. Today I would like to ask you to share a lesson you have learned from a friend or colleague recently. Perhaps it is related to business, design or even a personal exchange.
Please share with us!
Blessings,
Preston

George Bernard Shaw once said: “You see things and say, ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were and say, ‘Why not?’” That quote embodies how Preston Bailey approaches every event.

First of all, I like the caption of this blog beginning with “Exchanging wisdom… , ” and the picture reminds me that without sharing and exchanging your experiences with others one can not grow. At the same time, listening skill are as important as looking above and beyond. Preston, I am honored to say that your blog has been a platform for me to think from different perspectives. Many a time I feel I am in a lab and evaluating under a tiny microscope. Your thoughts on various subjects reflects your honesty to your profession which only helps me to challenge more.
Coming back to the question about a recent experience, I designed a wedding in Dallas a week ago where I met another vendor Haniff (photograper) who really touch me through his passion towards his work and compassion for others working around him.
